Hi, my name is Stacy and I love beer.
I’m an interactive designer by day, beer-lover by night. And day. I don’t think I’ve had any dreams about beer, though. But it’s about time I merged my two non-human loves, beer and the internets.
I’ve been brewing beer at home for about seven years, and don’t have a specific style preference other than “tasty and drinkable.” I’ve made stouts, porters, a kolsch, wheat beers, duvels, browns, a grand cru, and a few others ranging from Belgian to American styles. I’ve recently started making hard ciders and meads, which are super easy and delicious. I’ve never made a lager because I don’t have a good way to keep my fermenter at 40-50 degrees except in winter when the garage is cold.
The only beer I really won’t drink, apart from Budweiser/Coors/Miller is anything super hoppy. I just don’t love IPAs or hop-heavy beers, which is rare for a native Northwesterner.
I do like Pabst, and I’m not ashamed! Sometimes I just want a beer soda, not a flavor adventure, and there’s no finer beer on a hot summer’s day after playing softball.
Because I’m a designer, people often ask me if I design labels for my beers. No, I do not. Why? Because it’s just another label to wash off my bottles when I reuse them. I use different colored bottle caps to tell the beers apart.
